Rose Haven reigns every year on Mother’s Day when it hosts the Reigning Roses Walk in Portland, Oregon. This year was an especially spectacular day for Rose Haven to host its 2nd annual Reigning Roses Walk. The weather was perfect, helping to lure more than 350 participants and volunteers to gather to celebrate special women in their lives. Rebekah Albers, Executive Director of Rose Haven, said the morning started with a beautiful reception with mimosas, pastries, coffee, raffles and live entertainment. A leisurely 5k walk followed the morning festivities. Walkers strolled through northwest Portland, which included a tour of Rose Haven. Along the way, local merchants handed out goodies to the walkers, including roses and chocolates. Participants and Rose Haven guests walked together, toting red umbrellas to raise awareness about the mission of Rose Haven. More than $50,000 was raised to support services for the homeless and abused women and children that Rose Haven serves in Portland.
