Frank Ryan is walking across the United States to raise $3 million for Good Shepherd Services Baltimore (GSS). GSS is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd Province of Mid-North America. He describes his walk of atonement and gratitude in the video on this page.
Frank left from San Diego on March 15 and will finish his walk this summer, after crossing through 14 states and completing 2,806 miles on foot. He will complete the walk in Ocean City, Maryland.
Frank is getting support from Good Shepherd Sisters, staff, friends and others. Many are walking with him in solidarity through a Walk Across America Challenge that GSS staff created. Teams of 10 to 20 supporters are tracking the miles they walk on the job or at home in the hopes of matching Ryan mile for mile.
Those who would rather not walk can participate by donating to the cause. Every dollar donated counts as a mile toward the goal. All money collected will be used to fund programming for Good Shepherd students.
Frank is president of the Board of Directors for GSS, a retired Marine Corps officer and certified public accountant and thought leader with the Business Learning Institute. He is posting pictures on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/GSSWalkAcrossAmerica and accepting donations for GSS and prayer requests along his route.
