The Sisters of the Good Shepherd National Advocacy Center (NAC) advances the Sisters of the Good Shepherd’s commitment to justice by engaging in public policy and advocacy at the national level. Rooted in our mission of compassion, reconciliation, and the dignity of every person, NAC works to shape policies that promote the common good, protect human rights, and address the systemic causes of poverty, exclusion and injustice.
As a voice for the Sisters of the Good Shepherd and partners-in-mission across the United States, NAC brings the experiences and concerns of women, girls, migrants, and vulnerable communities to policymakers and national leaders. NAC advocates for just policies, challenges those that harm people on the margins, and supports solutions that foster dignity, equity and opportunity for all.
Through education, advocacy and collaboration, NAC also equips sisters, partners, and the wider community to engage in social justice efforts and advance systemic change in support of a more just and compassionate world.
Good Shepherd International Justice and Peace
Good Shepherd International Justice and Peace (GSIJP) is the advocacy voice of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd at the United Nations, promoting a universal culture of justice through advocacy, collaboration and action. Working with ministries across 67 countries, GSIJP brings the lived experiences of women, girls, migrant, and vulnerable communities into global conversations and decision-making spaces.
Guided by the congregation’s advocacy priorities, GSIJP works to advance the rights and dignity of all people through engagement on issues including migration, human trafficking, economic justice, the rights of women and girls and integral ecology.
Through its presence at the United Nations and its partnerships around the world, GSIJP amplifies grassroots voices, influences international policy and helps translate global commitments into meaningful change within local communities.
