A September afternoon at Busch Stadium gave the sisters of the Mason Pointe community in St. Louis plenty to cheer about, especially as they celebrated Sr. Rose Kern’s 93rd birthday.

On September 14, Sr. Rose joined Sisters Renee Scheich, Trish Barnette and Lee Ann Mackeprang for a Cardinals game with Beth Ludwig, life enrichment aide, and Susan Howard, community coordinator at Mason Pointe. The group enjoyed an afternoon together in the Cardinals Unlimited section, where they had access to free hot dogs, bratwurst, drinks and nachos throughout the game.

For Sr. Rose, the outing was an especially memorable way to celebrate her 93rd birthday. The Cardinals helped make the day even more special by giving her a birthday goodie bag filled with Cardinals gifts, including a hat, bobblehead and long-sleeve pullover.

The fun continued after the final out. Sr. Rose was invited to ride in a golf cart from the stadium down to the main gate. Smiling whole way, she described the ride as “feeling like a roller coaster.”

It was a joyful afternoon for the sisters, filled with friendship, baseball and a special birthday celebration. And with a 2-1 Cardinals victory to top it all off, Sr. Rose had plenty to smile about.
