Hunter Unit at GSS Baltimore gets a makeover

Take a look at the snappy renovations in the Hunter Unit at Good Shepherd Services (GSS) Baltimore! The Hunter Unit is a 13-bedroom residential facility for boys ranging in age from 13-18 years old. GSS raised $255,500 to overhaul the unit. The design is state of the art to provide a therapeutic environment for teens who are on the autism spectrum or have cognitive disabilities.

The Hunter Unit accommodates sleeping, therapy groups and recreational activities. The ribbon cutting for the unit took place on December 18, 2015. In attendance were Board Members and Sisters, GSS Department Directors, a representative from one of the three Foundations that provided funding, and three of Maryland’s State Legislators who helped GSS obtain a $100,000 Bond Bill for the capital improvement.

Special thanks to the Maryland General Assembly and Senator Ed Kasemeyer, Delegate Eric Ebersole, Delegate Terri Hill, Delegate Clarence Lam, Delegate Steve DeBoy; The Marion I. & Henry J. Knott Foundation; The Abell Foundation; and the Middendorf Foundation.
