Shepherding Images Studio opens soon!
The Sisters of the Good Shepherd Province of Mid-North America’s newest ministry — Shepherding Images Studio and Good Shepherd Gallery — will open officially to the public on November 17. A ribbon cutting with the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce marks the official opening of the ministry in Ferguson, Missouri.
Sister Glynis McManamon, artist and founder of Shepherding Images Studio and Good Shepherd Gallery, creates sacred art as a way of inspiring viewers to reflect on a larger worldview. She is no stranger to creating and exhibiting iconography and other forms of art. For years she had a studio and gallery in Louisville, Kentucky, before being asked to serve as Human Resources manager at the Province Center in St. Louis. She is excited and grateful to be returning to her love of ministering to others through art, reflection and interaction.
The ribbon cutting event for Shepherding Images Studio will take place on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at 12:45 p.m. Sr. Glynis is holding short “sneak peak” tours of the location prior to the official opening.
She is also in the process of presenting the opportunity for youth to have their own show of artwork and hopes to have a show in place by the new year. Sister Glynis also plans to use the gallery to show artwork by schools and community groups that highlight the Good Shepherd core values of mercy, reconciliation, individual worth and zeal. The Ferguson studio and gallery will incorporate a small meditation space for people who visit and want a quiet space for rest and quiet reflection. Sr. Glynis is also accepting commissions from individuals and private and public organizations and wants visitors to know they are always welcome.
Shepherding Images Studio and Good Shepherd Gallery is located at 252 S. Florissant Road, Ferguson, MO 63135. The telephone number is 314-522-1155. The ministry will have an online presence on the Sisters of the Good Shepherd website in late November.
