Your voice can help us advocate for justice

Your voice matters. You can advocate for justice and help Sisters of the Good Shepherd as we mobilize the People’s voice through the Good Shepherd National Advocacy Center (NAC).

The National Advocacy Center (NAC) is the lobbying arm of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd. NAC strengthens the public voice for those who are on the margin of society. It works to lessen their burdens through policy. The center influences how policy is crafted in Washington, DC. It amplifies the Good Shepherd voice to speak up and work for change in the structures of society. NAC petitions the United States Congress to act favorably on issues that impact those marginalized in society.

The National Advocacy Center reflects the spirituality, history and mission of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd. It works in solidarity with the disenfranchised – particularly families, women, and children. The center works in partnership with many faith-based and other organizations, coalitions and communities.

Voice for the voiceless through advocacy

The National Advocacy Center educates and develops strategies to address social justice issues. It advocates for the transformation of society to the benefit of all people. NAC issues weekly action alerts that address social justice issues. The action alerts encourage people to use their voice to advocate for changes in society that benefit all people.

Good Shepherd Sisters also further the social justice and peace movement through the United Nations. We have special consultative status on the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. You can help us be a voice for the voiceless. Take action through our weekly action alerts.
